Statement from NSMTC Chiefs on Jordan’s Principle and the Governments of Canada’s Obligation to First Nations Children
On October 22, 2026, the birthday of Jordan River Anderson, the Chiefs of the North Shore Mi’kmaq Tribal Council (NSMTC) issued the following statement calling on the Government of Canada to address outstanding Jordan’s Principle requests and uphold its legal obligations to First Nations children.
