Who Attends
The 2025 NSMTC Staff Retreat and Annual General Meeting is mandatory for all NSMTC staff.

Our Goal
The NSMTC Staff Retreat and Annual General Meeting are designed to bring staff and leadership together in a collaborative space for learning and team-building.

Cultural Considerations
As always, all attendees are expected to be culturally considerate. This includes being respectful of Elders, language, traditions, ceremony, and to follow the guidance of the Seven Sacred Teachings. Kindly remember that our Elders are served before other attendees and prayer is said before meals.

Annual General Meeting and Board Meeting
The NSMTC Annual General Meeting and Board Meeting scheduled for August 18th. NSMTC staff are encouraged to attend both meetings and support their departments.

Golf
For those interested in golfing, there are golf courses off-site. Attendees are responsible for booking their own tee time. 

Going Off-Site
Attendees are allowed to travel off-site during the retreat, but are encouraged to be present for meals and to make an effort to engage with other staff during the retreat. 

Travel & Meal Reimbursement
The NSMTC will be reimbursing staff for mileage and meals associated with retreat arrival and departure. Please check back later for more details.

What to Bring

Formal Attire (Not Black-Tie)
We will be having a formal dinner on Monday, August 18th. Note that this is not a black-tie event.

Swimwear
Oak Island Resort has an indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub, and is located in a coastal region.

Athletic Wear & Yoga Mat
Oak Island Resort has a fitness room and tennis court on site, along with various rentals. We are also planning to schedule optional fitness activities such as morning yoga.

Golf Gear
For anyone who is planning on hitting the green.

Comfortable Shoes
You will have freedom to go off-site during the 2025 NSMTC Staff Retreat and Annual General Meeting. For wherever your day may take you, a pair of comfortable shoes is always a good idea!

Toys & Playthings
Bring anything you think you might want to entertain your family or children.

Dog Leash
Oak Island Resort is pet-friendly. Pets may not be left in the room unattended. Be sure to bring your leash.
