KWE – The Gathering is different.

KWE is an Indigenous-led event that puts relationships first. Our commitment to you is that you will have an unforgettable experience, and come away pleasantly surprised by the breadth and depth of connections you’ve developed.

Across two days, participants will listen, learn, and work through key issues together. Time on stage will be limited so the focus stays on the voices in the room. Roughly 80% of the programme is dedicated to direct engagement – connecting with fellow leaders, engaging in candid conversation, and planning the work ahead for nuclear innovation and development in New Brunswick.

“Kwe”, in Mi’kmaq, is a greeting like “Hello”, expressing openness, welcome, and mutual acknowledgement.

Indigenous-Led

The event itself, and the proposed approach to new nuclear development, put Indigenous rights-holders in a leadership position from the earliest concept stage, improving alignment.

Relationship-First

The first order of business is connecting with the other leaders in the room. A generous portion of the programme is focused on close one-on-one and small group conversations. At KWE, connecting with other people is the core programme.

Action-Oriented

Across Canada, the conversation is accelerating. Capacity is being built. Projects are moving from concept to concrete. Supply chains are forming. Capital is deploying. Alignment is how we move forward. Execution is how we honour that alignment. At its centre, KWE is about execution.

Mutual Learning

Indigenous leaders will share what good partnership development and project execution looks like. Industry, finance, and government leaders will do the same. Together, the room will shape the conversation and the path forward.

KWE – The Gathering is designed for important conversations that create trust and enable aligned action.

KWE is set up as a working room, to gather, to build relationships, to lead together.
A room where leaders of Indigenous organizations, industry, finance, and government, representing the key players in the nuclear innovation community, will work together in a new way.

As focus points, we will explore the potential in the Indigenous-Led Owner Consortium model for financing new nuclear, and consider the feasibility and value of establishing an Indigenous-Led Nuclear Innovation & Development Zone in New Brunswick.

Intentionally brief content from the stage will guide participants through a process of connecting person-to-person, aligning on a shared vision of success, and developing commitments and project timelines for new nuclear in New Brunswick.
